ICS brings IP technology to SME fingertips at IP’07

ICS has given the UK market a sneak preview of its brand new Internet Protocol (IP) package, Fingertips, at this year’s IP’07 exhibition held at Earl’s Court, London.

The system, designed to cut businesses’ line rental by up to 50% and significantly reduce call costs, is specifically aimed at levelling the communications playing field between SMEs/start-ups and their big-business counterparts.

“IP’07 was the perfect platform for previewing Fingertips,” enthuses ICS managing director, John Gillborn. “IP is ‘next generation’ in terms of business communications so now’s the perfect time to take advantage of this technology before it’s considered the norm – the competitive edge it offers small businesses is significant.”

Fingertips technology is available in a range of tailored systems and comes with the option to rent hardware. Benefits include:

  • A universal number that allows home workers and field personnel to make calls as though from the office
  • Free inter-office calls
  • Fingertips telephone numbers aren’t area-dependent – if the business moves, the number can move with it
  • Small businesses and start-ups have the functionality of a large switchboard – even if there’s only one or two handsets
  • Call recipients don’t require IP technology

John explains: “One of the most appealing aspects of Fingertips is how easy it is to set up. Because it uses broadband technology, there’s no need to lay any cables and in most cases changing a phone line to an IP line doesn’t even require a visit from an engineer. Once it’s done, any broadband line can be used to make a call from your number – you just need to plug in and talk.”
